A Notary Public in BC is a special kind of legal services provider. Notaries have been providing legal services in BC for well over 100 years, and for thousands of years across the world.
Similarly to our BC Lawyers, a BC Notary can give legal advice and assist you with a number of important legal issues in your life, such as:
- making estate planning documents, such as a Will, Power of Attorney or Representation Agreement
- refinancing your home
- buying a home
- selling a home
- authenticating documents for use in foreign jurisdictions
- making certified true copies of original documents
- notarizing documents meant for use in court or for other official purposes
- notarizing travel consent letters, or invitation letters
- buying or selling businesses
Most importantly, Notaries can give you legal advice on these issues so you can feel comfortable about making good decisions. In fact, by law, Notaries are required to meet the same standard of professional care that lawyers must meet!
